In the proliferation age of self-actualization where everything you need to know to be your best self is just a click, watch, positive quote, yoga lesson, or creative workshop away, the question seems to be, Why hire a professional coach?
My answer is simple: because without someone intently listening to you, asking you challenging questions, and providing a safe space to examine your answers and challenge you further, you’ll most likely stay in the same mindset you’ve always been in, see things the way you’ve always seen them, and overlook what you’ve always overlooked.
The key factor is commitment and accountability. The best coaches, no matter their specialty, encourage (and sometimes demand) both.
You are the expert in your own life; you know best your own answers, though you may not be aware they’re in you because of distraction, mindset, and all the other types of interference. The best coaches are experts at listening, at making connections, at asking the right questions, and at helping you clarify what you need to do to commit to your own decisions.
The best coaches help you focus.
The best coaches support you, but also challenge you.
The best coaches believe in you.
The question now is, Why wouldn’t you want to hire someone like that?
